You will never change your mind after reading this

I received an email from one of my clients.

We were mailing back and forth.

I’m helping his agency set up a million-dollar email funnel.

And to be completely honest.

There’s a LOT to change.

Their welcome sequence consists of 20 emails…

Their lead magnet is 145 pages…

Their open rates are 1.05%…

And they have 2k people on the list… SO MUCH POTENTIAL

Anyways.

He wasn’t aware of any of the problems other than the open rate.

We did not fully agree on how the lead magnet should be.

And his marketing team is 100% using AI.

The owner wanted the guide - 145 pages - about SEO…

showing none of their expertise and how they can help their clients.

It was only straight-up facts that chat GPT could have made.

No selling.

So, I overdelivered.

I made him a complete case study at no extra cost.

I can guarantee he felt like his investment was worth it.

If you do email marketing...

You know this is a big problem.

There’s much more to a successful list than just the emails.

You need:

  • Traffic

  • A Good Lead Magnet

  • Welcome Seuqnece In Place

  • Valuable Insights On People's Problems

  • And A Lot More

But why did I do this for free?

Me being the expert in my area, I refused to go with it knowing the potential money they’d lose on it.

Okay… I made that sound very harsh. We talked in a respectful manner ofc.

(Just like 2 friends arguing about which football team is best)

And there are 2 good reasons why I did that:

  1. I’m the expert

  2. The client needs to view me as the expert

If I were to change the plan according to what he thought was best, he would feel like he was bossing me around.

That I’m just another employee.

When you work as a freelancer it’s important to know your shit and show that you know it:

Let the client know what you will change/remove and WHY it’s better to do so.

If you don’t.

Here’s what’s going to happen:

If you choose to go with your client’s suggestion even when deep in your heart you feel that another decision is wiser, you are telling yourself:

“I don’t trust my own wisdom.”

You are weakening yourself by telling yourself this.

Your mind will refuse to trust you in the future.

And worse…

You are weakening your client’s trust in you: why should he trust your wisdom if you don’t?

When you deny your deep truth to please your client, everyone will feel your lack of authenticity.

Your own sense of inauthenticity will burden your capacity to act with clarity. Your actions won’t go with your core.

You can’t afford to lose yourself pleasing others.

This goes far beyond biz.
